TV Programmes on Community Education
Beyond the Classroom" is a set of three television programmes that provide an insight into the area of community education. The programmes have been produced by Dublin Community Television (DCTV) in partnership with the AONTAS Community Education Network from funds obtained through the
Launch of Beyond the ClassroomBroadcasting Authority of Ireland's Sound and Vision programme. The programmes focus on the history of community education, examples of practice and the learners' perspective.

Three Television Programmes
1. The practitioners
Who is it for? Learners, policy makers, general public and people working / volunteering in community education.
It will offer you the opportunity to reflect on 'why you do this work'. It is also useful for anyone who wants to learn about the principles of community education, what makes it different to other kinds of education and what value it has to contribute to the individual, the community and society.
2. The communities
Who is it for? The general public learners, policy makers and people working / volunteering in community education.
The programme is composed of 4 examples of community education in practice. It charts the history, development and growth of community education in different areas of Dublin.

Who is it for? For prospective learners thinking of returning to education, people working / volunteering in community education and the general public.
This programme is framed as a discussion with current learners to those who are considering doing a community education course. This 45 minute TV programme deals with the issues that new and prospective learners face as they embark on this learning journey.
