Frequently Asked Questions about Adult Education

Every year the AONTAS Information Referral Service provides both direct and referral information on adult education issues to individuals and groups. This section deals with the most frequently asked individual questions in relation to adult and further education. We aim to provide detailed information that will point you in the right direction on your lifelong learning journey. Download a copy of the AONTAS Information booklet here.

This part of the website will also refer you to other useful websites and resources. These include Qualifax (the National Courses Database), Student Finance, the Adult Education Guidance Initiative, the Citizens Information Service and the INOU (Irish National Organisation for the Unemployed).

Please be aware that eligiblity for education and training initiatives and financial supports varies depending on an individual's circumstances. It is always best to check with your local Social Welfare Office, or your local Adult Education Guidance Service, to check your eligiblity.
