The Millennium Partnership Fund
From May 2009 onwards the Millennium Fund is no longer in existence.
The Student Assistance Fund
This is funded by the NDP, it is specifically aimed at students that are experiencing financial hardship while in college. Students are recommended to contact the Access Officer or go to the Student Services Offices within their institution
The NOVA Fund
Nova stands for the National Office for Victims of Abuse. To date 12.7m has been made available to provide educational programmes to Former Residents and their families. This fund is being administered through NOVA, application forms can be obtained from NOVA and you, your spouse and your children may qualify for funding under the Criteria of Eligiblity that has been set down by the committee. St Vincent De Paul
This organisation provides financial assistance for education and training. Applicants can apply to the Education Officer in the Society of St. Vincent De Paul. In order to apply applicants need to enclose a letter, outlining what they are studying and what factors are inhibiting their studies. Generally this fund is reserved for learners who have not been successful with other agencies. To read more about this fund click here.
SIPTU
Member of SIPTU can apply for scholarships, awards can be made of up to €1000. For more information on this scheme visit the SIPTU College section on their website www.siptu.ie
IMPACT
Members of IMPACT can apply for a grant for specific courses. For more information on eligibility criteria visit www.impact.ie
Bank of Ireland Millennium Scholars Trust
The Bank of Ireland Millennium Scholars Trust was set up for a period of ten years in the year 2000 and the final round of scholarships were awarded last summer. There are no plans to continue the scheme.
DDDA Third Level Higher Education Scheme
This scheme is only open to residents living in the Dublin Docklands catchment and immediate hinterland area. Applicants who intend to pursue full-time education must have obtained a place on one of the approved courses on the basis of Leaving Certificate results obtained in the year of entry. The criteria for selection will be academic achievement, financial circumstances and motivation. Candidates may be school leavers or mature students. The scholarships offer €1,300 per annum for students on degree courses, and €650 for those on Diploma or Certificate courses. Over the years applications have increased and therefore deadlines of application must be adhered to.

North/South Scholarship Scheme
Currently there are four to six scholarships worth €15,000 (approx. £13,500) available to learners currently registered at an Irish or Northern Irish University or Dublin Institute of Technology (or who have graduated in the past five years) proposing to take up a place on a recognised Master's course or the first year of a PHD programme which would require them to relocate to the other jurisdiction on the island of Ireland. The scholarships are also open to currently registered students at an Irish or Northern Irish University or Dublin Institute of Technology (or who have graduated in the past five years) wishing to follow a cross border Master's course or the first year of a PHD programme involving significant study in the other jurisdiction.
This scheme is open to all students registered at an Irish or Northern Irish university or Dublin Institute of Technology (or who have graduated in the past five years) regardless of nationality or birthplace. Please click here for more information.
Innovation Bursaries 2010
Ten PhD bursaries are being offered as part of the TCD-UCD Innovation Alliance on the theme of Sustainable Society. The bursaries will be fully-funded for four years, including fees, a stipend of €16,000 and contributions towards start-up and research costs. Researchers and scholars across all disciplines will be offered the opportunity to become engaged with the challenge of creating a smart economy for Ireland's future.
