ETB Learner Representative Vacancy – Dublin and Dún Laoghaire Education and Training Board (DDLETB)
21 Mar 2017 04:27 PM
As per the Education and Training Boards Act (2013), AONTAS is a nominating body designated to elect learner representatives to the Education and Training Boards (ETBs).
Previously, through an open call, AONTAS nominated persons for consideration and appointment to each of the sixteen ETBs, including Dublin and Dún Laoghaire Education and Training Board (DDLETB).
The learner representative position in DDLETB has now become vacant. Therefore, we are calling for nominations, one male and one female, who we will propose for the board of the DDLETB. Within the ETB Act a learner is specified as "a person other than a student who is acquiring or has acquired knowledge, skills, training or competence."
To assist you in this task please complete an application form, which can be downloaded here. General specification drawn up by AONTAS for this position is also available here. We would also urge you to familiarise yourself with the Education and Training Boards Act which you can access here.
We are asking you to submit your nominations no later than Wednesday 26th April by 5pm. Late applications will not be considered and canvassing will disqualify applicants.
The Executive Committee will meet to assess the application following this and names of nominees will be submitted to DDLETB. The Executive Committee will assess each application according to the criteria outlined on the application form and where consensus cannot be reach the decision will be made by secret ballot.
