EU projects enable AONTAS to further strengthen our work advocating for the right of all adults in Ireland to access quality lifelong learning. European projects also offer great opportunities for capacity building, sharing best practice, developing resources, and training for AONTAS members across Ireland. AONTAS’ European work seeks to address areas of educational disadvantage in order to build a cohesive society in Ireland and across Europe, support the implementation of EU education policy, and build the profile of the adult learning sector.
As a national organisation, AONTAS is committed to representing the issues of our members on key fora at National, European and International level including the European Association for the Education of Adults (EAEA), the European Basic Skills Network (EBSN) and the International Council for Adult Education (ICAE).
