Blueprint for Basic Skills Development in Slovakia (BLUESS)

Posted in

BLUESS is a collaboration of partners, including AONTAS, that works together to support the development and implementation of the national strategy on the basic skills of adults in Slovakia.

This project is led by the National Coordinator for the European Agenda for Adult Learning (EAAL) in Slovakia, The State Vocational Education Institute with support from partners including AONTAS.

AONTAS' role is to contribute international expert guidance and support as the National Coordinator for the European Agenda for Adult Learning (EAAL), and as the representative voice of adult learning in Ireland.

The project utilises shared learning and expertise across the partnership and is funded by the European Commission's EaSI Up programme.

Some of the activities that have taken place to date include study visits to Ireland, where experts from Slovakia had the opportunity to learn from organisations working in the adult education sector in Ireland. AONTAS staff had the opportunity to take part in the project’s inaugural meeting to share perspectives on basic skills policy and practice in Ireland and to join in the discussion on how best to develop basic skills provision in Slovakia and across Europe.
