Are you an adult education practitioner with experience providing non-formal learning in Northern Ireland?

AONTAS and FALNI are hosting three focus groups to capture practitioner perspectives on how the wide-ranging benefits of adult learning are being captured across the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector. These discussions will form a key part of new research, conducted by the Alliance for Lifelong Learning. 

The aim of this research is to arrive at evidence-based solutions to improve data collection and impact measurement of non-formal adult education, which will:

Focus Group 2  

Date: 10 December 

Time: 2pm-3.30pm 

Location: Online  

In this focus group, participants will delve further into some of the challenges faced by providers in terms of impact capture. We will consider the various models used to capture impact (particularly of non-formal learning) and the kind of data requested by funders. 

Focus Group 3 

Date: 29 January

Time: 10-11.30am

Location: Online or hybrid (further details to follow)

This final practitioner focus group will provide an opportunity to reflect and elaborate on the research thus far. Initial findings from the practitioner survey will be shared with the group and participants will be asked to share their impressions, highlighting anything about the impact process that may not have been fully captured.
