The Loreto Centre offers a range of adult education programmes; including Wellbeing, Tai Chi, Mindfulness, Meditation, Sustainable Gardening, and a Certificate in Women, Gender, and Social Justice. The centre also provides Counselling and Psychotherapy services to the local community.
The impact of their work was clear to see from the testimonials shared by attendees about how much the centre and its services have meant to them.
The centre currently supports over 200 learners and works with 40 therapists, ensuring this essential service continues to meet the needs of the local communities.
As Anca Lupu, the centre manager, said, the local community refers to Loreto as “a place of welcome and healing” – made even more meaningful by the fact that the celebration took place on World Mental Health Day.
Like many community centres, Loreto relies on funding to keep their work going. We must do our part to support organisations like theirs to ensure they remain sustainable and well-supported.
Congratulations from all of us at AONTAS and our Community Education Network.
We look forward to continuing our close partnership with the Loreto Centre in the years to come.
