An Cosán VCC to Present at Spanish Conference on New Learning Technologies

Dublin man Matthew Waters will travel to the Spanish city of Barcelona today (03.07.17) to speak at EDULEARN - one of the largest international education conferences.

Mr Waters from Dublin works in An Cosán Virtual Community College (VCC) and will present their project in front of 700 experts from over 80 countries. At national level, he is involved in the Community Education Network, run by AONTAS, the National Adult Learning Organisation.

The trip is taking place as part of the ERASMUS+ ‘Making an Impact at European Level’ project, an EU-funded project organised by AONTAS that supports the professional development of adult education workers.

Commenting in advance of his trip, Mr Waters said: “I’m really excited to visit Barcelona where I will present research on supporting adult learners engage in blended online learning.”

The conference provides a great opportunity for organisations to get together to share knowledge on teaching and learning methodologies and educational innovations. I am also looking forward to showcasing the work of An Cosán VCC on an international stage.”

Speaking about the visit AONTAS CEO Niamh O’Reilly said: “This EU project aims to strengthen the work of the AONTAS Community Education Network by giving them an opportunity to partake in learning events across Europe, where they can learn about best practice in adult and community education.
