AONTAS Membership Support - September 2021

Niamh O’Reilly, AONTAS CEO

Dear Member,

There has been a lot of activity this past month. The highlights are outlined in this newsletter, from membership webinars, joint events with EPALE EPALE (Electronic Platform for Adult Learning in Europe), focusing on social inclusion in adult learning to preparation for learner voice and community education network events. Our Pre-Budget submission 2022 is also complete and covers the needs of learners, the community education sector and the structural changes needed to ensure a more equitable tertiary education system.

A particular focus of our work is the Annual General Meeting, which will be held on Wednesday, 20th October (12 noon – 1.45 pm) and we encourage you to attend. It is particularly important as we will thank our outgoing chairperson, Tara Farrell, who has contributed so much to our organisation. The AONTAS membership will also elect new board members, and as voting is on the day, your attendance is vital. We will also use the opportunity to celebrate the resilience and innovation of the adult learning system over the past year and a half, and the great work of tutors and learners. So please do attend and take the opportunity to connect with your colleagues and friends in AONTAS.

In the meantime, if we can assist your organisation through promotional work or advocacy always feel free to reach out to AONTAS.

In support,

Niamh O’Reilly

CEO, AONTAS
