Assistive technology refers to a whole host of tools that can help people with activities like writing, reading, and participating in the world around us.

Non-profit organisation AHEAD, which works to create inclusive environments in education and employment for people with disabilities, is partnering with AONTAS and NALA (the National Adult Literacy Association), to present a three-day online event in May 2023.

This event will explore new ideas in assistive technology, and will help educators in adult and community education, and further and higher education, to learn how to empower adult learners who have disabilities and literacy needs.

In advance of the conference, AHEAD are seeking speakers who are experts in the field of assistive technology.

They are seeking four types of presentations:

  • “How did you do that?”: 10-minute demonstrations of assistive technology
  • Short and snappy presentations of 15 minutes
  • Assistive technology-related presentations of 30-45 minutes
  • Pre-recorded video presentation of 10 minute about a topic relating to assistive technology

The deadline for presentation submissions is 5pm on Thursday, 6th of April 2023.
