Just4All Project Begins Development of Four National Reports On Adult Education & Transition

AONTAS are partners in an Erasmus+ funded project called Just4All – Adult Education for a Just Transition. Just Transition is the inclusive and equitable process of moving to a post-carbon society.

Last month the project started the collection of good practices and now they will begin to develop four national reports on Just Transition and Education.

Cyprus, France, Ireland and Sweden are the four countries that will be the focus of the research papers, which will examine just transitions policies, programmes, and funding in relation to lifelong learning and adult education.

The reports will have a special focus on climate change and how it impacts the education sector, what a just transition means for adult learners and educators and will examine whether lifelong learning and adult education enable a just transition towards low carbon economies in the four countries and wider region.

As socially vulnerable members of society including women, migrants, and adults with a low level of formal qualifications are more exposed to climate impact, the four reports being developed will have a special focus on these groups.

The research will be carried out by local partners in each of the four countries, with AONTAS conducting this piece of work in Ireland. The overall research is being conducted for SOLIDAR.
