Our Chairperson John D'Arcy has been shortlisted for a CO3 Leadership Award!

CO3 stands for Chief Officers Third Sector, a network of people in the community and voluntary sector who inspire and support through building peer connections, skills development and advocacy. Established in 1985, CO3 is a membership-based organisation that focuses on supporting, developing, and connecting Third Sector leaders in Northern Ireland.

The awards ceremony and fundraising event took place on Thursday 14th March at the Europa Hotel in Belfast.

The awards recognise exceptional leaders and initiatives that made a significant impact in the Third Sector, which includes charities, and voluntary and community groups.

There were 15 different categories, recognising the outstanding achievements and unwavering dedication of leaders in the sector. John was nominated under the 'Trustees' category. Congratulations to John for being shortlisted and for all the incredible work he does for AONTAS and for the charity sector across the island of Ireland!

At the event:

Award-winning social enterprise ArtsEkta treated attendees to a fantastic Bollywood-style performance. They are renowned for transforming communities through shared creative experiences.

The event also featured the inspirational story of Clodagh Dunlop, who shared about her recovery after suffering a major stroke which led to Locked-in Syndrome. Clodagh is a true example of resilience and strength.

It is great to see this celebration of the impact of people working in and benefitting from the Third Sector, and we will continue working with colleagues in relation to adult and community education, with John D’Arcy as our fantastic Chair!
