EU Projects
We want to make a difference in global challenges like climate change, the digital divide, and threats to democracy. European projects also offer great opportunities for capacity building for people working in the adult and community education sector in Ireland.

AONTAS are involved in a number of European projects, supporting our members with their work in adult and community education, and promoting access to and participation in lifelong learning in Ireland and across Europe.
ENHANCE
The ENHANCE Project (2023–2026) is an EU-funded project that supports more inclusive and participatory adult education. It helps learners have a say in their learning and gives educators practical tools to put learners at the centre of education.

New European Agenda for Adult Learning (NEAAL)
AONTAS are the National Coordinator for the New European Agenda for Adult Learning (NEAAL) in Ireland. We were nominated to this role in 2014 by the Irish Department of Education and Skills. The NEAAL project seeks to promote and support adult learning across Europe. As coordinator, we facilitate cooperation with the other EU Member States and the European Commission.
