VOICES
VOICES is a European project dedicated to fostering social inclusion and strengthening community cohesion through adult education. It expands access to high-quality learning opportunities by developing a European “counter-archive” of oral histories that supports language learning and intercultural dialogue.
About VOICES
At the heart of the project is the integration of migrants’ lived experiences into language and basic education programmes. VOICES develops practical methods and educational materials that place migration stories at the centre of learning. Using oral history techniques, digital tools, and interactive approaches, the project promotes participatory and learner-focused education.
By encouraging learners to conduct and engage with interviews, VOICES ensures that the stories are authentical, ethically collected and that learners are empowered to take ownership and shape their own stories while learning new transferable skills. Through personal narratives, the project promotes empathy, challenges stereotypes, and supports intercultural understanding. It also creates opportunities for dialogue across generations and communities by highlighting shared migration experiences. The overall approach is inclusive, community-based, and designed to create safe and empowering learning spaces.
