About Learners as Leaders

AONTAS, in partnership with Development Perspectives, is delivering a Learners as Leaders programme in July 2021. The Learners as Leaders programme seeks to build the capacity of learners within the adult education sector.

About this workshop

This second workshop will cover United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In this workshop we will explore what the SDGs are and what purpose they serve on a local level, and how we can understand the issues we all face from a globally informed perspective. Again, this workshop will use experiential/participatory approaches to learning. We will also look at how the SDGs create a narrative through which we can understand the complex and interdependent world in which we live. At the end, we will discuss the key role adult education plays in sustainable development and how it promotes economic, social, and environmental dimensions of sustainable development and creates favorable conditions for empowering global active citizens.
