Date: 26th January 2023
Time: 09:30am – 13:30pm, lunch provided
This meeting is an opportunity to reflect on the kinds of critical wraparound supports provided through community education, and the impact that this has on the learning experience. Through focused discussion groups, participants will also explore the challenges that have arisen for providers as a result of the cost of living crisis, and the need for sustained financial support for the adult and community education sector.
The AONTAS Northern Ireland Consortium has been established to address the needs of community education providers in Northern Ireland. It offers a space to share experiences and information, support one another and create a more unified voice for advocacy. As part of this work, AONTAS will conduct an NI Community Education Census. This will be launched in March and will capture key information on Community Education provision in Northern Ireland. We will share results that practitioners will be able to use for their own advocacy for adult learning.
This event is open to all but preference will be given to Northern Ireland based participants, if it is oversubscribed.
