CEN 10: Sustaining Community Education Conference

Our CEN10 Conference took place in Croke Park on the 29th November, and what a wonderful day it was celebrating 10 years of the AONTAS Community Education Network (CEN)!

We were delighted to have Minister Simon Coveney open the event, and meet with many of our CEN members and learners. Other highlights from the day included the insightful keynote speech by Dr Jim Crowther of the University of Edinburgh, which gave attendees lots of food for thought. As well as speeches, we held a number of workshops for attendees on a range of topics including financial sustainability and how to respond to contemporary challenges, among others.

CEN member, Access 2000 Wexford showcased the work they do, with a brilliant input from their learner, Lee, on how taking the step to sign up for a course a few years ago has had a positive impact on his life.

The day ended on a high note, where we heard from participants on their reflections from the day. We closed the event with songs from the wonderful Forever Young Chorus' from CDETB Finglas.
