Create Your World with the AONTAS Adult Learners’ Festival 2023!

Adult Learners' Festival 2023

We’re delighted to announce the launch of the AONTAS Adult Learners’ Festival for 2023, with the theme of Create Your World. Because life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.

The Festival runs this year from Monday 6th March to Friday 10th March 2023. There will be in-person and online events, happening in Dublin and across the country as we celebrate the creative side of adult learning.

What's Happening?

We’re hosting two major events in Dublin during the Festival week.

Kicking off on the morning of Monday 6th March we have “Stepping Stones and Stable Roots: The Versatile and Enduring Strength of Community Education”, an exciting in-person gathering at the Richmond Education and Event Centre in Smithfield, Dublin.

We’ll bring together educators, adult learners, and policy-makers to discuss the unique value of community education in Ireland and its relationship to the new Unified Tertiary Education System. This event is open to all, but space is limited so register soon.

Click here for more information about “Stepping Stones and Stable Roots”.

Over the course of the week, we’ll be out and about meeting learners and providers.

The week also coincides with International Women’s Day, and we take this opportunity to celebrate the transformative change that women continue to bring about – both as adult learners and as educators in Ireland.

The annual AONTAS STAR Awards is the grand finale of the Festival on Friday 10th March in Croke Park in Dublin.

The STAR Awards celebrates and recognises the very best in adult, community, and further education across Ireland, and raises awareness of the fantastic work by education providers which is making a real difference to people’s lives.

Because we want to really celebrate and recognise the educators and learners shortlisted for these awards, this is an invitation-only event, but we will be sharing all the action on our social media and our website.

Hold Your Own Events

In the coming days, we'll share more details about how you can register your events in adult education, community education, and Further Education and Training. No matter where you are in the country, we're inviting you to join us in learning new things this spring.

We'll also run an online information session with a chance to ask questions about how to get involved in the Festival. We'll shortly be sharing details of this, and how to register, so keep an eye out for more.
