People learn skills and expertise in their everyday life, communities and workplaces, and can be extremely knowledgeable in an area without having formal education and training in it. An example of this is someone in a caring role with children, older people, or people with disabilities.

New funding announced: Adult Literacy for Life Collaboration and Innovation Fund open for applications
There is new funding available through SOLAS to support public, community, voluntary, and non-profit groups and organisations to help people with all forms of literacy. Deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday, 14th April 2023.
