AONTAS is delighted to announce our new programme ‘Collaborative Training for Community Education’ for front-line staff, volunteers and management in community education. This is a blended learning course offered in partnership with An Cosán VCC. As part of the current project; Increasing Pathways, Increasing Participation under the European Agenda for Adult Learning (EAAL), this course is free for participants.
Programme Overview
‘Collaborative Training for Community Education’ is an unaccredited programme to be designed to meet the needs of Community Education Network members. The programme will primarily support participants to engage in collaborative discussion, group work, and peer-to-peer learning concerning issues and topics relevant to CEN members.
Programme Aims:
- Explore the principles and practices of community education and lifelong learning today
- Investigate and identify strategies and practical approaches to quality assurance
- .Investigate and identify strategies and practical approaches to governance
- Discuss best practice regarding QQI programme validation and QQI re-engagement
- Co-create an online resource for the sharing of programme resources and relevant templates
Participants will form an online Community of Practice for the sharing of knowledge and best practice, with an online site created to share information and act as an ongoing resource for participants after completion. Workshops will feature guest presentations from relevant experts to prompt group discussion and peer learning. Students will be supported to engage in critical thinking, collaborative learning and reflective practice throughout.

- Live online session 6th November 10am – 11.30am
- Live online session 13th November 10am – 11.30am
- Live online session 20th November 10am – 11.30am
- Final Session 27th November 10am – 4pm, Ashling Hotel Dublin
