Project Advisory Group (PAG)
A group bringing together leading education experts and representatives from the Government, education institutions, social partners, and civil society organisations, which advises on the implementation of the NEAAL project
This project is funded through the New European Agenda for Adult Learning (NEAAL)
Funded by the European Union. Views and opinions expressed are however those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union or the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA). Neither the European Union nor the granting authority can be held responsible for them.
The PAG is an essential part of the governance of the NEAAL project. It has grown and changed a lot since the programme’s beginning.
AONTAS originally formed part of the Steering Committee during the NEAAL project from 2012 to 2014.
We were then nominated as aational coordinator for the NEAAL in Ireland.
At this time, the Steering Committee was expanded renamed the Project Advisory Group.
Since then, it has been chaired and led by AONTAS.
There are about 25 members, and there is continued cooperation between us to ensure transparent and informed communication on the NEAAL project with key stakeholders in the Irish adult learning sector. This includes the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation, and Science (DFHERIS), SOLAS, Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), Léargas, Education and Training Boards (ETBs) and Education and Training Boards Ireland (ETBI), the National Adult Literary Agency (NALA), universities like Maynooth University, and trade union FORSA.
The PAG meets twice a year. We organise extra meetings if necessary. We make sure to get high attendance at PAG meetings and we invite external experts to present on different topics relevant to the group’s members.
